Most visitors see Sapa's villages by day and sleep in town. This trip turns that around: you walk into the Muong Hoa valley and stay the night in the village.
The route links Lao Chai, a village of the Black H'mong, with Ta Van, where Black H'mong, Dzao and Dzay families live, and Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao village further along the valley. Between them run the rice terraces that made Sapa famous.
Sleep in a shared dorm, a private room or a bungalow, whichever suits you.
