Da Nang is famous for its beaches, but some of its most memorable places are up in the rocks. On the Son Tra Peninsula – Monkey Mountain – a giant Lady Buddha stands in a bonsai garden above the sea. A short drive south, the Marble Mountains rise out of the plain, their limestone hollowed into caves and shrines.
This morning tour takes you to both. Watch the stone carvers at work at the foot of the hills, climb to 19th-century pagodas built under Vietnam's last dynasty, and descend into Am Phu Cave, the largest in the complex. A bowl of mi Quang for lunch, and you're back at your hotel by early afternoon.
