Bac Ha Market Day Trip from Sapa

A day at Bac Ha, the highland market famous for the colourful dress of the Flower H'mong, with meals included. Starts in Sapa: transport from Hanoi is not included.

Bac Ha is one of the best-known markets of Vietnam's northern highlands. On market day, people from the surrounding hill villages come down to trade, and the Flower H'mong arrive in their brightly embroidered clothes.

It is a working market, not a show: produce, fabrics, household goods and livestock change hands, and the noise and colour are the real thing.

Meals are included in the day.

    Sapa – Bac Ha market

    Meet your group in Sapa and spend the day at Bac Ha market, where people from the hill villages around come to buy and sell, many of them Flower H'mong in their brightly embroidered clothes. Wander the stalls of produce, fabrics and household goods and watch the trading. Meals are included in the day.

  • Public holidays: tour prices are +40% on New Year (31/12 – 02/01), Lunar New Year (from the 28th of the last lunar month to the end of the 4th day of Tết), 30/4 – 1/5, Hung Kings Commemoration (29/04) and 2/9.

Which day is Bac Ha market?

Bac Ha's main market day is Sunday, when it is at its liveliest. Ask us which dates this day trip runs and we will confirm them with you.

Are meals included?

Yes, meals are included in the tour price.

Is transport from Hanoi included?

No. This is a land tour that starts in Sapa, so the trip Hanoi – Sapa – Hanoi is not included. We can book a round-trip bus ticket for you: sleeper bus from 280,000 VND, cabin bus from 490,000 VND and Limousine (Dcar) from 532,000 VND per person. For the train, ask us and we will check.

How much do children pay?

Children aged 1–4 go free when sharing transport and a bed with their parents (parents pay any extra costs). Children aged 5–8 pay 75% of the tour price, with their own meals and sharing a bed with their parents. From 9 years old the adult price applies. Bus tickets are charged at the adult price for every age.

Are prices different on public holidays?
